What I did in the game: Normal Campaign 100% completed.
The One Picture I have taken: File Select screen.
A very well made indie Castlevania tribute that has nothing unique to it expect for the fact that for some reason they made Dracula looks like Bela Lugosi, the actor who played the vampire himself in the old black and white 1931 movie. To be frank, I have no idea why they did this, as it brings nothing to the table. Still the whole game is really enjoyable. It's stage based like the Castlevania games before they all became Metroidvania, but you have to find 4 Gems and 4 Scrolls in each of the 12 Stages to get your 100%. You also have to complete every stages without losing one single life, which is easy at first, but later stages are full of endless pits to kill you with one false move. You have 2 differents characters you can choose too. A vampire-girl wit a whip and a monk with a spear. You could think it would be like Castlevania Bloodlines on the Sega Genesis, but unfortunately, they pretty much play the same except for a few skills you can unlock with the gems you find. The pixel arts graphics are really good (the background in particular), but the star of the show is definitely the soundtrack, which is beyond amazing, and all played using the same chip-sound as the Famicom version of Castlevania III. The team really knew how to hit the Castlevania nostalgia with this. Everything was great from beginning to end except one thing (on Switch, maybe not elsewhere). There were long load time between everything when you're not in a stage (once the stage load in, it's ok), which is really weird for a game that doesnt look like it uses heavy assets. I don't know why there's so much loading. But other than that, if you like classic Castlevania, it's a must play for sure!
