What I did in the game: 100% Save File (Adventure Mode cleared, everything purchased, all Art Scrolls and Glitchbrids found).
The One Picture I have taken: File Select screen.
This is both a New Game and Completion post. This week-end, I was just walking around the mall, which lead me to a Gamestop, and to my surprise, I saw a physical copy of The Plucky Squire. It was on my digital wishlist since the release, but I was waiting for the physical one before getting it, though after a while, I totally forgot about it, and didnt know it was released just a few weeks ago! So I ended up buying it instantly.
Back home, I started the game and ended clearing it the same week-end I bought it. Both because it was really entertaining and also really short. I've already read that the game received mixed reviews, that it was better in concept than in execution, and while I had a lot of fun completing it, I have to agree with those statements. The game is really linear to a fault. There's zero exploration besides the few collectables scattered in the game. You just go to one scene to the next. Which is not totally a bad thing, as there's A LOT a gameplay variety. But I did felt like the game was undercooked when I reached the end.
Still, with the right discount, I feel the experience is good enough to at least be enjoyed once by everyone. Plus the art in the game is just sublime. It's too bad they didnt went a little bit farther with the concept of going from 2D Storybook to full 3D world.
