While everyone was waiting for the Nintendo Direct for the Switch 2 next week, Nintendo decided to announce randomly yesterday that they will be presenting ANOTHER Nintendo Direct today, March 27. This one fully focusing on Switch 1 games. And my God, it's like they don't want this 8 year old machine to die, with new games still coming for it up to 2026, including a new Rhythm Heaven game!
Also included, a new system called Virtual Game Cards??? It seems that you'll be able to make virtual card with your digital games, and then allow them to be transfered from one Switch to another? What I think this mean is that two Switch will now be able to almost act like they are Primary systems instead of just one. An internet connection is only required for the first time, then you're good to go transfering your Switch digital games from one Switch to another, and play them on the second Switch I guess without internet connection. It's obviously the answer I was waiting for when I asked if both the Switch 1 and 2 could be primary systems, so that way both can be played offline at all time, and I don't have to transfer my entire digital library on the Switch 2. Like I said, it's my interpretation of it, I might be wrong, but I hope it's that! You can also lend your digital games for 2 weeks to a member of your Nintendo Online Family plan which is also great!
