Cosmic Fantasy 4: Van's Return - Game beaten with Van at LV50

What I did in the game: Game beaten with Van at LV50.

The One Picture I have taken: Van stats screen.

Part 2 for Cosmic Fantasy 4, and the end of the entire series. This was one incredible old-school JRPG. From the date included in the collection, it seems there was only a few months between both part release, but it was still enough to make it an even better experience overall.

Like the first game, you start in an adventure segment. Once again, I would have liked to see more of those. Once the JRPG section begins and you enter your first battle, you can already see some improvements. The ATB system was more refined and your character speed seems to have way more impact than in part 1. Also, the auto-battle system is fully customizable for every characters, which is a game changer. You can now ask to open the menu once a gauge is full, so you don't waste so much time selecting a character all the time. Every characters can also now equip anything, but they all have different affinities to each piece of gear, so you even have some strategy to use when it comes to equiping stuff. Finally, the game story is almost a direct continuation of Van's story in 2, and it truly feels great going back to Idea and see how it changed.

As for the negatives, they're almost the same as part 1. There's still some untranslated texts, a sound skip bug when navigating too fast in the menus, and the game is still kinda short, even though it felt a little bit longer than part 1. I also feel that the saga conclusion is missing something for its big climax. The preview at the end 3 of made us thought it would have been much bigger. In fact, none of the scenes used at the end of 3 to preview 4 were ever used, which is kinda funny.

Now that I'm done with all 5 games, I can say that this series has its up and down, but it had a lot of charms. The main event is obviously the anime movies, so I was glad to experience those playing through the entire saga, it really felt like watching a cheesy space opera '90s anime. So to conclude, here's my last completion video for the series:
