What I did in the game: Game beaten with party at LV50.

After my rant against Cosmic Fantasy 3, I'm really glad that Cosmic Fantasy 4 is what turned the series to the greatness it deserves. This is truly a great 90s 16-bits JRPG that can rank just a little bit below the below the best. It's a shame we never got this entry and its sequel. The game first start with a full on classic Adventure game that builds up the world perfectly. I would have like to see more of those during key moments in the game, but unfortunately it's only at the start of the game.
Once it's done, you then start the JRPG gameplay. The minute you take control of your character, you can already see how much everything has improved. Bigger sprites, better menus, more balanced gameplay and an amazing battle system that is like ATB 2.0, where you can build up a second gauge for more powerful attacks if you wait, though it leaves you open to enemy attacks. Even if it's menus-driven, everything is playing fast, and it almost feels like an Action-RPG game because of it. Soundtracks also is really good in this one. While previous games were also using redbook audio music, the quality of the composition were not great. Not so here. Still have many songs stuck in my head, in particular the battle theme.
Only 3 small negatives things this time. Once again, there's some untranslated part in the game, but nothing that affected me as much as in 3, but it's still there. And also once again, the game is really short, though since it's only part 1 of 2, it didnt felt as bad for me like in 3. Finally, there's an audio glitch that can be really frustrating. When navigating menus in game, if you go too fast in them, the redbook audio just gets a tons of skip. I don't know if this problem is only in the collection or in the original game too.
Other than that, really amazing game, even the grind to LV50 was not painful at all. Can't wait to start part 2. Below, you can see my completion video:
